Hello October. It’s finally fall and the spooky things are in the air. The veil is thinning and the ghosts are already pressing on the boundaries between worlds. It makes my headache, but in a good way because I have new ideas coming. Yes, I listen to the voices in my head. They do give me some great ideas.
I have at least three more book ideas that have popped into my head and I am waiting for them to form into something feasible to write. For me I have to let new book ideas ruminate to see if they grow into plots that have legs. Once it does take hold, I start writing, and then dedicating a certain amount of time for writing the new stuff while going back on the current stuff I’m writing. It can be an hour or a day or alternating.
At the moment, I am writing/editing my Goth Fortune Cookie book because I finally figured out the motivation of the villain and the overall plot and the Three book arc. I’m spending a couple of hours a day on that while balancing the day job.
I’m also editing a book for a friend of mine an hour or so a day.
Every writer is going to be different. I fit in what I can while I have d break on my day job.
Some authors can only work on one thing at a time. Some authors can sit down and write 10k words a day.
I used to be able to do that, but I’ve slowed down a lot and it takes me forever to write a book these days.
We’re not going to talk about social media and marketing. That’s something I suck at. Even though I’m getting better.
However, you find your way to balancing your projects, just make sure you are doing it your way and not giving up. Never give up.
