Hey, SF/fantasy/horror writers!
Are you a beginner with questions about what you’re doing? Have you been at this game for years but aren’t sure what your next steps should be? Or are you looking for the perfect gift for the writer in your life? Check out the 2026 SAGA Writing Conference!
SAGA is the preeminent genre-based writing conference east of the Mississippi. It was established in 2019, and has featured classes by ome of the most well-known names in genre fiction – Richard Kadrey, Sherrilyn Kenyon. Maurice Broaddus, Natania Barron, A J Hartley, and many more. SAGA operates with a Craft and Business dual-track design. Skill in writing and business acumen are critically important to a professional writer. It’s no good selling a thousand copies of your first book if it’s hot garbage and no one wants to read your second book, and it’s useless to write an amazing book that nobody ever reads. At SAGA, we give attendees the tools to write better books and make more money by focusing on both the craft and the business of writing.
In the evenings, we’ll have time for networking and meeting other writers and having a little fun. Faculty books will be available for sale in the conference store, and the attending publishers will be taking pitches all weekend. Who knows? This could be the day you sell your first book!
This year three of your beloved Shenanigators will be teaching classes. Susan Roddey will present on creating book covers guaranteed to tempt readers. Nicole Givens Kurtz will teach on the art of writing short stories, and Misty Massey (me!) will take students through the trials and tribulations of the author/editor relationship. We’d love to see you there!
Registration is open now, so visit the website for more information.
